With our filters, membranes and services, we protect people from waterborne pathogens that can cause serious infections. Wherever drinking water flows or process water is required, our expertise is in demand.
The Aqua free Group is one of Europe’s largest manufacturers of water filters for the medical, non-medical and industrial sectors, as well as a service provider operating across Europe in the field of drinking water hygiene.

Since our founding in 1999, we have been developing water hygiene solutions as an ISO-certified, internationally active medical device and industrial company — for both public and private environments, from individual outlets to complex installations. Patient safety and sustainability are core topics at Aqua free. At the same time, we consciously look beyond our own horizons. We believe that people experiencing homelessness have a right to personal hygiene.
That’s why we support the GoBanyo shower bus. GoBanyo gives people experiencing homelessness the opportunity to shower and wash. Our sterile water filters are used on board the shower bus.
What makes this special:
The idea for this partnership came from a colleague in Accounts. She heard about the project, spoke to our Managing Director and the responsible field service colleague — and together they set up the collaboration quickly and straightforwardly.

Children’s charity – support for those who need it most
Ronald McDonald House Charities
The youngest members of our society need special protection — especially when they are ill. At times like these, the closeness and comfort of their parents is indispensable.
So how does #teamaquafree support Ronald McDonald House Charities?
As part of a partnership, we cover the running costs of an apartment in a children-and-parents house in Hamburg-Eppendorf. This enables families of seriously ill children to stay free of charge near the hospital while their child is being treated at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf.
Further projects
Alongside these two initiatives, we are planning further charity campaigns and sponsorship activities — because helping others is part of our company’s DNA.

Research & Development

Marketing
Marketing brings together Aqua free’s group-wide internal and external communications. This is where campaigns for new product launches are planned, activities are implemented, and projects are delivered in close collaboration with all other departments to increase Aqua free’s visibility.
Market Development & Product Management
Product Management knows our products and markets inside out. The team analyses trends, customer needs and new fields of application. The aim is to develop products that fit precisely, optimise variants and open up new markets for Aqua free — from medical applications to industrial processes.
Materials Management
For our filtration systems to work reliably, a wide range of raw materials and components is required. Materials Management ensures everything is ordered, inspected and stored on time. The department also oversees maintenance of production equipment, building infrastructure, IT and our vehicle fleet.
Production
The heart of Aqua free. Without our production team, there would be no filters to protect people. This is where everything comes together: our award-winning filters are manufactured from various assemblies, and our reusable products are cleaned and prepared for their next use.
Quality Management / Quality Assurance
As a manufacturer of medical devices, we must comply with numerous standards and legal requirements. Quality Management and Quality Assurance document all development and production steps, monitor processes and carry out random inspections to ensure our products consistently meet the highest standards.
Finance & HR
Finance brings all the numbers together: invoices are issued, checked and paid. HR is also based here — from supporting employees day to day to providing recruitment support.
Drinking Water Hygiene Services
Our service engineers advise customers nationwide on drinking water hygiene. They create water safety plans, support preventive measures and provide assistance in cases of acute Legionella contamination — in medical facilities, properties and other sensitive environments where water must be safe.
Sales
Our sales team provides personal advice to customers across Germany on our portfolio. Alongside on-site visits, colleagues regularly attend trade fairs to win new customers and raise awareness of our solutions.
Sales Support (Inside Sales)
This is where customer proximity lives. Our inside sales team advises customers across our entire product portfolio — competently, friendly and solution-focused.
Filter Replacement Service
Our replacement service team is spread across Germany. Among other things, it organises the replacement of our point-of-use filters and is the first point of contact for many medical facilities, building operators and other customers when technical questions arise.
