Baclyser® TL (2M) / Baclyser® TR (2M)

Point-of-use hollow fibre membrane filter for water taps

The Baclyser® neo S is a sterile, point-of-use shower filter1 for use in high-risk areas in medical facilities for the prevention of bacterial nosocomial infections caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Legionella pneumophila, Stenotrophomonas maltophilia or Staphylococcus aureus in immunocompromised and immunosuppressed patients. The effect is achieved by interrupting the transmission path of these germs through filtration of the water and protection against retrograde contamination when using the water taps through hygienic design and antimicrobial protection functions. The Baclyser® neo S is available in 3 different service lives: 2M, 3M and 4M.

  • CE-marked medical device Service life of up to 4 weeks
  • Low installation height
  • Can be swivelled for more flexibility
  • Hygienic design
  • MetalSkin Medical® – highly effective bactericidal coating as well as antimicrobial additives in the housing to prevent infections from retrograde contamination

1 Sterile filtration: Pathogen retention ≥ 107 B. diminuta CFU/cm2 filter membrane surface (= 7 log steps).

The Baclyser® TL/TR (2M) terminal hollow fibre tap filter is a CE-marked medical device. This disposable water filter is a terminal sterilising grade filter with a 0.2 μm hollow fibre membrane, which has a retention of at least 7 log levels.

Thus, over a service life of up to 4 weeks, depending on the water quality, reliable protection of patients from infections by the critical germs Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Legionella pneumophila, Stenotrophomonas maltophilia or Staphylococcus aureus is ensured by interrupting the transmission path of these germs through filtration of the water. The chemical composition of the water is not changed in the process

The hygienic design and the use of antimicrobial additives or bactericidal coatings at the filter outlet also prevent infections with Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Legionella pneumophila, Stenotrophomonas maltophilia or Staphylococcus aureus via retrograde contamination, e.g. via splash water, aerosols from the siphon or contact when using the water point.

After the service life has expired, the filter must be changed and disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner via the collection of recyclable materials. This filter change can be carried out very easily by installing the matching adapter arms. Individual product labelling on each filter ensures traceability and facilitates the documentation process in hospital hygiene routines.
