POU Filter Management

Have you ever considered how many resource hours are taken up dealing with all the aspects relating to point of use filters?

  • The paperwork required to raise a new order for each new batch of filters;
  • Storing of the filters and managing the inventory;
  • Dealing with logistics; Resource Planning Changing the filters;
  • Documenting the changes – which outlets are changed with which filters;
  • Proper disposal of the used filters;
  • Keeping accountable records up to date of all outlets with filters

…and then do the whole thing again next month.

Have you ever considered getting someone else to do all that for you?

Aqua free offer a unique service which delivers all of the above tasks for the provision of a single order number.
As part of a service package, reusable filters are provided on a rental basis with all logistics managed by Aqua free, removing inventory costs and dealing with deliveries.
Our service technician will then carry out the filter change and all filters are returned to Aqua free for reprocessing.
In Germany, where the filter exchange service was first developed the use of reusable filters has become the accepted norm with over 650 hospitals using Aqua free to manage their water filter programmes including leading university hospitals in Hamburg, Freiburg, Tübingen, Kiel and Heidelberg.

Reusable Filters: the Cost Effective, Ecological solution

Reusable means that used filters are taken through a validated process of cleaning, disinfection and 100% testing ensuring a constant supply of filters in an “as new” condition.
Reprocessing cuts waste to virtually zero and studies indicate that the overall carbon footprint impact is cut by over 50% compared to single use filters.

Medical Hygiene Trained Service Technicians

Aqua free is a medical water hygiene specialist and take their responsibility towards patient safety and security very seriously. All Service Technicians working with Aqua free receive training in Water Hygiene, the Filter Change process and on the requirements for working in the most sensitive areas of a hospital. Additionally their performance is regularly audited and spot checks conducted without warning to ensure adherence to the correct procedures.
Aqua free can also provide training to the staff on the hygienic use and cleaning of the filters.

Documentation Trail

Aqua free is certified as a medical product manufacturer according to EN ISO 13485 and well defined quality procedures surround all aspects of the filter life.
All filters and water outlets are barcoded. The whole filter change process – the used filter, the location and the new filter – is logged with the time and date of the change.
The customer is then provided with a record of the filter change activities at their facility which can be used to provide evidence of compliance with the Water Safety Plan.

Summary

The Aqua free filter exchange service provides a healthcare facility with a full end to end management for all water filter exchange activities reducing the burden on Management, Engineering and Administration staff and providing an accurate, detailed record of all water filter usage at a facility contributing to successful delivery of the Water Safety Plan.
